CPDC's Inaugural Event
October 25, 2010
On Monday, October 25, 2010, Charlie Whitaker (CEO of Career Path DC), in conjunction with James Bunn (Board Chair of Congress Heights Main Streets) and Tony Lewis (CSOSA), began the Clean and Safe Program in the Congress Heights section of Ward 8. This was CPDC's inaugural event, where CPDC's staff assisted Ward 8 residents with obtaining and maintaining suitable employment, while promoting a safer, cleaner community.
Over 25 Crew Members of the CPDC Clean and Safe Team joined the CPDC/Congress Heights Main Streets Urban Environmental Team in an effort to beautify the Ward 8 section of the District of Columbia, beginning in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE (Congress Heights).
This project was made possible through equipment and materials donations from the Mayor's Office of Returning Citizens Affairs and the Home Depot.
